The Master’s degree program in Research Chemistry provides students with an understanding of the theoretical foundations of chemistry and provides the tools to apply skills to practical chemical problems. Students will acquire the knowledge and skills to function as experts and developers in the field of chemical sciences. The development of language and communication skills is an integral part of the program. Education is based on scientific research methods and professional practice in chemistry.

The curriculum is designed to educate students in theory and application. Students choose for their advanced chemistry studies two (2) thematic modules out of the four (4) thematic modules available. Modules include two (2) required chemistry courses and at least two (2) other courses that students may choose from the options offered. Students will create individual study plans at the beginning of their studies.

If the student does not wish to complete two modules, advanced chemistry studies must include at least four (4) compulsory courses specified in the module table. Advanced chemistry studies are completed by other studies mentioned in the module table.

In 2024, a maximum of 20 students will be selected for the program. The subscription period begins on 3 January 2024 and ends on 17 January 2024 at 15:00 (EEST). The admission process to the Master’s Program in Research Chemistry aims at a fair selection of high quality candidates. Student selection is based on application documents and an assessment of how well the candidate’s skills and competencies acquired during their previous studies correspond to the master’s studies for which they are registered. . Applicants are ranked according to the selection criteria, with the top 20 applicants accepted into the program, while the remaining applicants are rejected.
